About this dish
Golubtsi are cabbage leaves wrapped around minced beef and rice and cooked in tomato sauce until the cabbage turns soft and sweet. Versions of the dish are made all over Eastern Europe; in Russia it is the home cooking that takes an afternoon and feeds a family for days.
A spoonful of sour cream on top is the traditional finish.
