About this dish
Shawarma travelled to Russia from the Middle East and became a dish of its own. In Moscow it is wrapped with crunchy cabbage and Korean-style carrot — the spicy carrot salad found in every Russian supermarket — alongside the chicken. Ours is that Moscow street version: marinated grilled chicken, cabbage, Korean-style carrot, tomato, cucumber and onion, with adjika and garlic sauce.
